I earned my first money when I was 12, helping my dad process amber.

My father started a company to make amber wall panels. The company still continues to sell these panels all over the world: to customers in the UAE, China, Vietnam and other countries.

My whole life is about amber. At first it was child's play and then it became my thing: I'm the founder of a jewelry brand Amber Workspace, we make jewelry with amber.

My dad taught me that amber is a fragile material and cannot be used by force alone. Each stone is unique — that's no exaggeration. They can be completely different in color and in inclusions inside. For example, there are often twigs or frozen mosquitoes in stones.

Therefore, attentiveness and sensitivity are the main qualities that are needed when working with amber. I think this is a very feminine story: our love, passion and talent for fine motor skills make you want to wear.

The distinct features of amber are its organic nature and aesthetics. Since ancient times, jewelry has emphasized the rounded and flowing floral shapes of amber. On the contrary, I like clear geometric shapes — structural and mineral ones. In our jewelry, we combine these two opposites.

The distinct features of amber are its organic nature and aesthetics. Since ancient times, jewelry has emphasized the rounded and flowing floral shapes of amber. On the contrary, I like clear geometric shapes — structural and mineral ones. In our jewelry, we combine these two opposites.

We have a stylistic method: we place silver plates under the stone, they reflect the sun's rays and so highlight all the features of a particular piece.

When I started my own business, one of my main desires was to fight the stereotype that amber is an old-school theme, grandma's stone. I wanted to show that amber jewelry can be modern and interesting.

I love the connection between ancient nature and urbanized space in our jewelry. I have a feeling that this is largely about modern women who combine motherhood, work and business in their daily lives.

Now I'm acting as a designer and entrepreneur, designing what jewelry will look like and building a system for their path to future owners.

One of the most beautiful things to do in the jewelry industry is the process of selecting stones, picking them up, looking at them from all angles and figuring out what you can make of them. This is how it works in everything: if you have a child's enthusiasm and thrill with the process, then things will move forward.

A community has appeared around the Amber Workspace brand that I'm proud of: our team and everyone who likes the idea of redefining amber. People come to Kaliningrad specifically to visit our store, and this is the result that I have been achieving and continue to achieve.

This is how it works in everything: if you have a child's enthusiasm and thrill with the process, then things will move forward.
